Acoustic Soundbox, 2018

Ideations and processes.
For this module project, I was given the challenge of amplifying sound from my phone's speaker without using electricity or any other form of amplification.
To tackle this challenge, I conducted thorough research to identify effective methods of sound amplification. I also considered the principles of design, particularly the balance of proportion for the dominant, sub-dominant, and subordinate elements in my soundbox design, using rectilinear composition.
During the initial stages, I designed and constructed a prototype of the soundbox using bluefoam. This allowed me to test and refine the design, ensuring that the elements were balanced.
After finalizing the rectilinear balance of elements during the ideation phase, I proceeded to create the final soundbox using Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) or a similar material. This choice of material provides structural integrity and enhances the sound amplification capabilities of the design.
